Wednesday September 3 to Saturday September 13, 2014 - 9th annual CaribbeanTales International Film Festival @ The Royal Cinema. The festival showcases Caribbean films from 15 selected countries around the region with public, community and online screenings. This includes 10-feature length and 20 short films in competition for the CTFF Audience Prize, which will be announced on closing night - September 13.

Saturday September 6, 2014 - 38th annual Cabbagetown Festival of the Arts. The festival begins Saturday at 10 a.m. with an opening ceremony in the afternoon and continues Sunday at 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. with a closing ceremony. Saturday September 6, 2014 - Toronto QUEER SLOWDANCE! Back to School Edition @ Dovercourt House. Toronto Queer Slowdance has all slow songs, all night long! (Except for the occasional intermission when we play the fastest songs we can find!) It's high school with a happy ending. Come and experience why slow is beautiful, and why love is not ironic.

PS. Fabulous and inspired attire, while desired, is not required. But it would be AWESOME and HAWT. Finally, you do not have to be queer to attend this party, but you must have an open mind, an open heart, and have open arms. Do keep in mind that the majority of folks attending are lesbian & gay, so if you are stridently straight, this may not be the most receptive community for you.

Sunday September 21, 2014 - Toronto Word on the Street Festival @ Queen's Park. Annual festival for book readings, meeting authors, literary workshops and more. Wednesday September 24 & 25, 2014 - Opening preview night for French play Past Perfect (Le Passé antérieur) @ Berkeley Street Theatre (Upstairs) – Théâtre français de Toronto opens its 2014-15 season with Past Perfect by Michel Tremblay. Directed by Diana Leblanc, winner of the 2014 Dora Mavor Moore Silver Ticket Award, this prequel to Albertine in Five Times recounts the genesis of Albertine’s revolt, one of Tremblay’s most fascinating and rebellious characters to date. He gained international success in 2010 with the release of his single, “Alor on danse,” which was later remixed by Kanye West.
