Up
until about 20 years ago we were a GLBT community same as the Americans
and then for some unknown reason Canada become LGBT I think its a shame
there are division in the community for pride and separate event days
for each group.
When Toronto Queer Arts Festival (Queer West Fest) same as Vancouver Queer Arts Festival runs it's one festival, where we are all equal and no need to use the 11-character abbreviation, that pride uses.
The are lots of festivals in Canada and round the world using the word queer in name now. Pride is has become a franchise, it's the same event all over the world.
