Why doesn’t somebody put KFC out of its misery? There are literally thousands of stories on Google how awful the product has become. Back in the 1960 and 70’s this was a good product. Then it began to change, first to go was the 11 herbs and spices, than in 2006 they phased out trans fat and began to use cheap no name soybean — or canola-based oil..
But the truth is that just because something is trans-fat-free, that doesn't necessarily mean it's healthy. Experts agree that using healthy fats, such as canola oil, olive oil, and plant sterols is better than using the artery-clogging Trans or saturated fats. Yet all fats are loaded with calories -- and so need to be limited in our diet.
To make it even more confusing, labels boasting "zero trans fat"doesn't always mean a food is completely trans-fat-free. By law, such foods can contain small amounts of Tran’s fats per serving. You'll still need to turn over the package and look at the list of ingredients and the nutrition facts panel.
The problem is now the famous KFC taste is totally gone. I buy my KFC once a year at 1221 Dundas Street W, Toronto, ON, but it really doesn't matter where you buy it, it is all awful taste wise. Every franchise uses whatever cheap oil they can buy, it’s not standardized
Do yourself a favour, stop buying and eating KFC Canada Chicken meals
