  • Sunday Evening August 8th - SEXY WORDS @ Lula Lounge A very sexy evening of LGBTTQ performers talking about sex. Poets, performance artists & spoken word performers will be strutting their stuff at The Lula Lounge on Sunday, August 8, getting you all hot and bothered. The best performers in the city will be doing their thing. This is the sequel to the smash success of Bent Expressions at The Press Club January 24th. tonight's event will again be hosted by Philip Cairns, fullmoon@auracom.com actor/writer/visual artist. This should prove to be a very memorable evening, all about Sex, Sex and more Sex!!!!



Duncan Armstrong

Toronto Ontario, Spoken Word Artist
Duncan Armstrong: From 1991 to 1999 Duncan was the force behind Bushwack Theatre. In 2002 he jumped back into the poetry/spoken scene - he’s had work published in CV2, Labor of Love, Jackknife Express, Renaissance Conspiracy anthologies; been featured on HOWL, as well as Cryptic Chatter, Hot-Sauced Words, Poetic Justice, George Harvey High School & Word Jam. He has performed at Word on the Street 2008 & 2009, Pride Toronto in 2005 & 2009. Philip Cairns

Toronto Ontario, Actor, Artist, Spoken word poet
Philip Cairns - . Writes plays, performance-pieces, short stories and poetry. He has performed his own work in festivals, cafes and theatres all over Toronto. Philip has performed his writing at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, A Space, Free Times Cafe, Clinton’s, The Black Swan, Renaissance Cafe, The Theatre Centre and Paddy’s Playhouse. He has acted in scores of small theatre productions and numerous independent films. He is also a visual artist having recently had a one-man exhibition at Artcetera Gallery in Toronto plus numerous other solo and group shows in Toronto and Edmonton. Yehuda Fisher

Toronto Ontario, poet, actor and musician
Yehuda Fisher a.k.a. PAN, is a poet, actor and musician. He hosted/produced Art Attack for CHRY 105.5 FM and now hosts WordJam at Free Times Café. He was Asst. Artistic Director for the 2009 Rustbelt Slam in Toronto and is the Slam-Master/Artistic Director of BAM! the Toronto Youth Slam. He coached the 2009 Toronto team at the Rustbelt Regional Poetry Slam, the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word and at the QEW Regional Slam. Yehuda/PAN is currently a member of the Slam Fam Poetry Collective and the Toronto Poetry Project and has one chapbook - Pen to Paper, and one Poetry CD - Mouth To Mic. Parul Pandya

Toronto Ontario, freelance writer, blogger and poetess
Parul Pandya writes about love, life, history and sexuality. She has a blog, The House of Provocation, appears regularly in “Xtra” magazine and also writes reviews for the T.I.F.F. Cathy Petch

Toronto Ontario, playwright, poetess and freelance writer
Cathy Petch is a writer of plays, poetry, fiction, reviews, articles and graffiti. Her new play “A Mean Thing” was recently performed by high school kids in Peterborough, presented by Mysterious Entity in conjunction with Peterborough Aids Resource Network. She is the host of the “Plasticine Poetry Phanatics” series, her favorite poetry series. She is a longtime proud member of “Wine With Everything” and promises never to bring urine onstage again unless it is contained in her own body. She has been published in several anthologies and magazines, most recently “Labour of Love.” Her twitter fiction can be found at Seedpod Publishing. She is happiest onstage.


Jay Stewart

Toronto Ontario, spoken word agent provocateur
Jay describes himself as 'deaf, bi, and sick.' He takes serious issues and turns them into controversial & hilarious pieces of art (i.e. Don't Hate, Just Masturbate & Shoot a Load, Not Yourself). Jay was part of the 1st annual Young Creator's Unit at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre for creator/performers under the age of 25. There, he created 'Ticked '07!' - a multi-character one person show focusing on the issue of hate crimes. Jay has performed and MC-ed at a variety of events including: Toronto's AIDS Conference, Goodhandy's, Writing Outside the Margins, Fruit Loopz at Pride, Queer Cab, and the Inside Out Film Festival. Recently, his company produced 'Hard & Able' II, a one-night-only cabaret, that featured exclusively artists that identified as queer & disabled at Buddies and bad Times Theatre on Tuesday June 29. The Storm

Toronto Spoken Word Artist
The Storm is a Spoken Word Poet who delivers her bear soul for all in the universe. This native Torontonian seeks to create awareness and continue to explore themes of love. She has recently competed at the Toronto Freedom Festival and has featured at other various events such as PoetsJazzoetry the Revival, Poetic Fashion, Women’s Voice, Brown Girls in da Ring, and others over the 10 years as a seasonal artist. Nichola Ward
