Olivia Chow is completely out of touch with gay Toronto voters

The city of Toronto is holding an election on Monday October 27, 2014 to elect a new council and Mayor, The top candidates for Mayor are: Doug Ford (Website N/A) , Olivia Chow (Widow of late politician Jack Layton)   and John Tory

Current polls have John Tory leading, Doug Ford jr., in second place and Olivia Chow trailing in 3rd place.

Toronto mayoral candidate Olivia Chow recently (Oct 6) sat down with JP Bevilacqua (Jean-Paul holds a  Bachelor of Arts in Drama and Semiotics,  University of Toronto, and is currently in his second year at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, when not working with proudTOVote group

In the above video,  he discusses her thoughts on Toronto's LGBTQ community, its relationship with City Hall, and her key messages for the community, voting on October 27th.

We were astounded to learn she only see Toronto Ward 27, Church St and 519 Community Centre as the hub of gay Toronto and intends to seek federal funding to help it.

Ms. Chow should wake up and smell the coffee. Toronto is no longer just Church St. There is now a large hub in the queer west end (Sometimes known as Queer West Village) of the city and smaller LGBT hub in Leslieville in the east end of the city. No help for them,  under Ms. Chow, if elected Mayor.

We wrote Ms. Chow (Oct 15), ask couple of question, which are important to us. Lily B (Election team). gave us  a sappy answer,  on how great she was,  but refuse to answer our questions about Toronto gay community. Another good reason not to vote Ms. Chow and stay with John Tory. Chow has too many people in short pants, on her election team

Royson James from the Toronto Star said on October 16: "The problem for Chow is that she does not have a history of spending restraint. She does have to earn her stripes on that file, especially in a race where a fiscal conservative like (John) Tory possesses many of the traits voters seek in 2014. In essence, Tory is her kryptonite. He exudes calm assurance, civility and good governance (the antithesis of the Fords) and voters feel he’ll be good with their money."

Voters who want anyone but Doug Ford would have to gamble on the city’s future. For, unless Chow’s support comes at the expense of both Tory and Doug Ford, she will bleed Tory’s support, Ford will hold on to the intractable Ford Nation votes, and Chow would deliver the mayoralty to Doug Ford, with one-third of the votes. Feedback from the campaign trail that we read,  suggests Torontonians don’t have the stomach for such a gambit.

Toronto Citizens are eager to change the channel at city hall, following nearly four years of turmoil whipped up by Rob and Doug Ford. As evidence, notice that on the first day of advance polling (Oct 15), a record number of 28,046 people voted.

Update Tuesday October 28. 201. Toronto residents elect John Tory Mayor....Wards 14, 18, 19 in Queer West end of city voted for Olivia Chow. Ward 27 & 28 in the Church St. gay village, a so called Chow strong hold, threw her under the bus and voted for John Tory...The rest of city, Pride funding was not a brass ring, people worried about, hence, Tory's win.
